Elder Holman

Where do I even start to talk about this guy? Kody and I have been really good friends since Jr. High! In middle school I thought he was the most annoying kid ever, and then in Jr. High we became the best of friends!

I can't tell you how proud I am of Kody. I hope he doesn't mind me telling a little bit of his story, but growing up he was not an active member of the church. My friends and I tried to be a good example to him, not that we were the best haha but we tried. I remember praying every night that he would become an active member of the church. I knew deep down in my heart that he would. I had no doubt he would, it would just be a matter of time.

Then, If I remember right, about a year ago Kody started to become active in the church. He had awesome roommates that took him to church, FHE, and to conference with them. After I got married our friendship grew apart a little bit. It was hard to get together as often as we were used to. One day I got a call from Kody telling me that he had gotten the priesthood. I was not shocked at all, but so happy for him!! I knew he would do it. I got the opportunity to go to the Temple with him while he received his endowment. That was so special to be able to be apart of that. I have never been so happy for someone before. In the Temple Kody told my mom and I that he was working on this papers to go on a mission. What?! I have to say I was a little shocked, but then I totally wasn't. That just seemed exactly like him to do that, especially at age 24!

Kody is the most motivated curious person I know. He has accomplished more than 99% of any 24 year old's have! He never ceases to amaze me. No one has taught me more than this kid has. He is the most giving, happy, no judgmental, positive, smartest, genuine, grateful person I have never met. If you ask anyone, they will say the same. Something I will never forget Kody telling me is that, "life is a miracle." That is exactly how Kody looks at everything in life.

Japan is going to be so blessed to have him in their country. I know he will bless the lives of so many while he is there. Be prepared to have the best companion ever Elders! He will teach you more than you want to know;)

I wish you the best of luck Kody, I know for a fact you are going to rock your mission. I am going to miss the heck out of you, but I guess I can share you for a while;) Thanks for being the best friend I have ever had! You are one special person:)
